No VCM for me

I am super disappointed that I am not running this weekend...and that I have not run a mile since last Friday. My mom brought me to my doctors on Monday morning and they sent me to the ER. I was in rough shape. Getting back into the groove is going to be tough. Especially since I have signed up for a 1/2 in July. Maybe the 5 or so pounds that I have lost in the past week will help me run faster!
I decided that my mom and Pamelas mom were right...I think this was gods way of telling me I need to slow down. I guess working 33 hrs at the college, 2 or 3 at WW, keeping up with all the farm paperwork, taking care of the neediest man alive, mowing the lawn, doing all of the cleaning, laundry, groc shopping and keeping up with a running schedule has caught up to me. So...the next thing is...what am I going to do about it? For starters: I hired a guy to mow my lawn today. Now I need a few more ideas. Have any? I wish getting Randy to help was an option...but it isn't. He works WAY more than I do with no days off. When he came home tonight at 645pm, I was surprised to see him home so early.
Well...Dixie and Randy are sleeping...so I should be too. I have had trouble sleeping since I have been sick...which is a huge pain. I also have a metal taste in my mouth from the medicine. It's so yucky. Peace out yappy dogs.

Where have I traveled you may ask?

I kept saying that after I got back from Aruba. In fact, I am still saying it. Aruba is one of the best places I have ever traveled. So where is the world have I been? I am going to attempt to make a list (Knikki will blow my list away):
1. Grand Cayman
2. Bahamas
3. Cancun, Mexico
4. Jamaica
5. Aruba
6. Canada
7. US: Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Vermont, New York, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois, Delaware and Maryland
8. Washington, DC

Have I missed anywhere?

My top 3 right now:
1. Aruba
2. Vegas
3. DC

Hmmm...

What have I been doing since May 2010 you ask?
1. Shortly following that Florida trip, I managed to get super sick and had pneumonia. It was awesome.
2. After I recovered, I ran quite a bit, picked black raspberries, went to two weddings, made a bunch of wedding stuff for my own wedding, enjoyed field days and went to a few wedding showers (including my own).
3. In October I ran my first 1/2 marathon in 2hrs 32mins. And for that, I bought myself a new ipod. I also bought some other stuff including a new phone (non flip).
4. In November, I got married. Pretty crazy stuff involved here. And now I am married, which is wacky. But thank goodness for my mom...who helped me do everything and then some.
5. RMQ and I went to Aruba. What a place! No road signs and lots of stray dogs. Everything else was perfect...the temp (80 to 85), the food, the donkeys, the relaxation, the beach, the sportage, the trail like roads and the butterflies. I am sure I missed some things...like Henry (the Hertz car rental man)...but that's ok. My recommendation: Go to Aruba in your lifetime. Of all the places I have traveled it is one of the best.

Why I love Florida...and the vicious tick.

Let me count the ways...1. They can grow plants outside, that I have a hard time keeping alive inside in VT. 2. Palm trees and tropical, odd looking trees / plants. 3. Clean cars 4. Driving fast on the interstate. 5. Pools everywhere 6. Disney World. What don't I like? 1. No RQ 2. No Dixie.
Speaking of the wonderful Ms. Dixie. I was headed to the airport this morning and just before I put her inside to leave...I decided to pet her a whole bunch. I felt a bump on her left upper leg and wondered why she would be scratching. I mean, she is a happy cat...I looked closer and saw a TICK!! I busted into my suitcase (which was already in the car) and got out the tweezers...I pulled that blood sucker out of my sweet Dixie. She did not seem to mind one bit. I have since arrived in FL and almost had a panic attack around 6pm...when I started reading about cats and ticks on the internet. Be advised: Once again...do not look up diseases or anything of the sort on the internet. Especially when you are far away and can take no action. Hopefully Dix has not contracted any odd diseases from this vicious tick and will be with us for many years to come. She is going to the doctors office on Wednesday or Thursday to be sure she is okay.
Well...RQ's birthday is on Wednesday. He is excited and we celebrate birthdays for a full week. I am flying back to VT tomorrow night, just to ensure I am home for his birthday. What kind of cake you ask? Ricky wants Peanut Butter cake with chocolate frosting and RQ wants chocolate cake with Peanut Butter frosting. Amazing...and I asked them separately...on two different days. Happy Birthday Baby!! I asked him for one reason why he loves me so much...given I am mean to him most of the time (its just my nature...nothing personal). He said...I miss you terribly when you are gone. I could hear it in his voice earlier today...I think it makes him sick when I go away. Poor baby..poor Dixie. I hope they are both well tonight. Peace out..and take a shower you yappy dog.

Hello crazy life with time to do NOTHING!!!

So I am rushing to post something because it has been 15 days since my last post...lately I have found that I have time to do nothing!! Between taking care of Randy, Dixie and myself...time seems to slip away. I have been most excited for spring time to be here but also with that is flowers and lawn mowing. I should have been happy last year when my lawn was not growing well. This year, however, it is growing at a wonderful rate and I am mowing once a week. This morning I was ever so happy to find that the dandelions have decided to come right up and make my lawn look crappy...just 4 days after my last mowing. Why you ask does RQ not mow the lawn? Because he works ALL of the time. Don't get me wrong...I love that he works a lot...it gives me an ample amount of freedom. However, I would like it if he was home once a week during daylight hours to mow the lawn. RQ is on his own for a couple of days...I am off to Saratoga for a work conference. I wonder what he will eat for two days? When I get back I will be lucky enough to clean up after RQ, pet Dixie, run a 5K, have lunch with my estranged cousin and my great friend Heather and then have a cookout with Dick and Alice - ALL on Saturday! I should likely mow the lawn on Saturday too...but that isn't going to happen. Oh yeah...and I am still hearing those yappy dogs...this time on Monday during my wonderful 5 mile run around Monkton pond...yappy dogs everywhere!!

Let's see what I can do!

We just came back from Nikki's wedding in D.C. I ate too many Georgetown Cupcakes. We are both tired now from the trip...but it was a great time. I finally feel like our wedding is getting close...and after going to Knikki's it feels real. Blogging...not exactly what I thought I would be doing....I hate writing! I am a math and science girl!!
